Just hooked my newly acquired AVR-900 this lat week and everything was great until tonight. Now, the remote that came with the unit only performs about half of what it should. Power on/off doesn't work, but volume does. Input selection works, but menu/setup keys do not. I'm paraplegic so accessing the menu at the receiver isn't exactly easy to do.
Should I contact Denon for a replacement or is there something that got pressed to make these functions only operate from the receiver?

I don't own a Denon, but on my Onkyo you press 'receiver' to access the receiver functions, and when you switch inputs (say to DVD or GAME) the button functions will reflect/favor that device. Receiver operations like menu & setup won't work until you press 'receiver' again (although Volume will still 'punch through').
Perhaps that's what is happening? Check the button layout & see if there is a toggle to get you back to 'receiver' mode.

That receiver is over 10 years old so very unlikely that Denon will have a replacement for the remote. Confirm from the Owner's manual that you have the correct remote as often times remotes get moved around and placed in the wrong box when purchased as demo/used.
